The Browns will have a new primary uniform for the 2019 season, but it will still be a familiar one.
Cleveland will switch its home uniform to the ones that were unveiled in 2016 as part of the league's "Color Rush" program, the Browns announced Wednesday. The uniform became a fan favorite last season, featuring brown jerseys with orange lettering and numbers in addition to brown pants that have orange stripes.
The Browns petitioned the NFL to allow this change as they previously were only allowed to wear the alternate uniforms three times per season, according to WKYC.
It's not clear how long these will be the Browns' primary jerseys as team owners Dee and Jimmy Haslam have already announced that the Browns plan to redesign the team's uniforms ahead of the 2020 season, WKYC notes.
The Browns will open the season wearing their new primary uniform Sunday against the Titans. Kickoff is set for 1 p.m. ET.
