Mike Daniels is on the move.

According to NFL Media, which cited unidentified sources, the Browns are hosting the veteran defensive end Thursday for his first visit since becoming a free agent.

PFT later reported that Daniels plans to travel to another city Thursday night, though "the identity of that team is, for now, being closely guarded."

Daniels was cut by the Packers in a shocking move Wednesday after spending his entire seven-year career in Green Bay. ESPN reported his "preference would be to sign with a Super-Bowl contender."

It was speculated that Daniels could generate interest in Cleveland considering several members of the team's front office were employed by the Packers when Green Bay selected Daniels in the fourth round of the 2012 draft. When Browns general manager John Dorsey was asked about the move Wednesday, he was coy about the prospect of hosting Daniels.

"As of right now, Mike Daniels is the property of the Green Bay Packers," Dorsey said. "You know my past history, I do not really like to talk about other teams' players. He is a good football player."

Daniels was limited to just 10 games in 2018, the fewest of his career, after suffering a foot injury in Week 11 and landing on injured reserve on Dec. 1.

The 30-year-old was entering the final year of a four-year contract worth $41 million and due to make $7.6 million.
