In his first start since being benched for his latest off-field discrepancy, Johnny Manziel helped the Browns snap their seven-game losing streak with a 24-10 win over the 49ers Sunday.

Cleveland got off to a rough start when its first possession of the game ended in a blocked field-goal attempt, but the Browns bounced back and got on the board first when running back Isaiah Crowell ended an 84-yard drive with a 1-yard touchdown run on their next possession.

Manziel later found tight end Gary Barnidge on a 2-yard pass in the third quarter before Crowell tallied his second touchdown of the day with a 3-yard run in the fourth quarter. Crowell finished with 145 rushing yards, the most by a Browns player in a game since Peyton Hillis logged 184 rushing yards on Nov. 7, 2010, against the Patriots.

Despite a number of off-field incidents this season, Manziel boasted a successful outing and finished 21 of 31 for 270 yards with one touchdown and one interception.

Cleveland's defense finally yielded positive results, as the Browns sacked quarterback Blaine Gabbert nine times and held the 49ers to 221 total yards. Gabbert finished 18 of 28 for 194 yards and a lone touchdown to wide receiver Jerome Simpson late in the fourth quarter.

The Browns, who became the first team eliminated from the playoffs with their loss last Sunday, will next visit the Seahawks and Chiefs before returning to Cleveland for their final game against the rival Steelers. Meanwhile, the 49ers will return to San Francisco to host the Bengals, then visit the Lions before ending their season at home against the Rams.
