Broncos vs. 49ers: Best Same Game Parlay picks & player prop bets for Sunday Night Football include two Russell Wilson bets image

The Denver Broncos host the San Francisco 49ers at Mile High this weekend in a battle of 1-1 squads. Both teams have had roller-coaster starts to the 2022 NFL season, with new Broncos QB Russell Wilson and head coach Nathaniel Hackett struggling to find their bearings in their new environments and San Francisco losing starting QB Trey Lance (ankle) and lead running back Elijah Mitchell (sprained MCL). This is a pivotal early-season tilt for these west-coast squads, and it’s a tough one to bet from both sides. If you’re too on the fence to pick a winner, maybe you’ll find more value assembling a Same Game Parlay on Caesars Sportsbook.

SGPs have become wildly popular over the past year. They allow bettors to string together a bunch of player, team, and game props into one parlay bet, increasing interest in the game and jacking up the potential payouts from the game. Prop bets can be much easier for savvy bettors to wager on, as statistical trends tend to be more consistent than teams’ week-to-week scoring output and cover-the-spread data.

LIVE: Follow 49ers vs. Broncos on 'Sunday Night Football'

Each weekend, we will put together a list of our favorite prop bets for the upcoming Sunday Night Game. We’ll then explain our reasoning behind each pick, and then list a variety of other prop bets we also like. Finally, we’ll enter the handful of props that made the cut into a parlay and determine what kind of odds and potential payout we will see if we pull the trigger on the SGP.

This week, you’ll notice the foundation of our parlay has been laid with three props in the -120 range. You’ll usually want your same-game parlays to mainly consist of props with strong probabilities of hitting. Since every leg of the parlay needs a green checkmark in order for us to cash, we can’t just jack up the potential payout with all props with plus-odds.

Let’s dive into our Week 3 Sunday Night Football Same Game Parlay, and make some money on what should be an exciting primetime game!

Russell Wilson OVER 32.5 passing attempts (-121)

Wilson threw 42 total passes in the Broncos’ season-opening loss to his former Seahawks squad in Seattle, then he tossed 31 pass attempts at home against Houston last week. The crazy thing: he only connected on 14 of those 31 attempts versus the Texans. But here’s some excuses for Mr. Unlimited:

  • Nathaniel Hackett has made some brutal errors in his first two games as an NFL head coach.
  • Broncos WR2 Jerry Jeudy hurt his shoulder and ribs in Week 2, and had to exit the game in the first quarter.
  • WR3 K.J. Hamler and TE Greg Dulcich have yet to play this season, and TE Albert Okwuegbunam has been largely ineffective.

Wilson spent the last decade with the Seahawks, and Hackett spent the past few years with four-time MVP Aaron Rodgers. Of course, these guys will need some time to get some bearing with offensive coordinator Justin Outten and the new Denver offense.

One thing’s for sure: this game should be close, with the 49ers listed as -1.5 favorites and an implied total of 23-21. That means Wilson will be throwing the ball plenty. Dating back to the beginning of the 2020 season, Wilson averages 35.5 passing attempts in games that are ultimately decided by a field goal or less. We don’t need positive results here — we just need attempts! Pound the OVER.

WEEK 3 NFL PICKS: ATS | Straight up

Russell Wilson OVER 8.5 rushing yards (-117)

Sticking with Wilson, this prop seems too good to pass up. The San Francisco pass-rush can be a real thorn in the side of signal-callers, and Wilson always tucks the ball and runs when his pocket collapses. So far, we have only seen the nine-time Pro Bowler collect five ground yards on three scrambles, but he’s also played two below-average defenses to this point. The Niners have elite weapons at all three levels of their unit, and always get after the QB thanks to Joey Bosa and friends. Last season, Wilson recorded four rushing attempts for 26 yards in Seattle’s first game against San Francisco, and three attempts for 15 yards in the squads’ second meeting. Who cares if it’s two Wilson props, as long as they both yield value? Smash it.

Jeff Wilson Jr. UNDER 55.5 rushing yards (-119)

The Broncos rushing defense has been strong this season, holding opponents to 80 or fewer total ground yards in each of the first two weeks (fourth in the NFL) and still not allowing a rushing TD. Meanwhile, veteran Niners back Wilson Jr. has avered 3.9 yards per carry and 13.5 rushing attempts per game. Quick calculator-aided math tells me that equals out to 52.6 rushing yards per game, and that’s against the Bears and the Seahawks! Against Denver in Mile High, JWJ will have trouble beating that average and hitting this OVER — especially with my guy Jordan Mason breaking out from the shadows of the San Fran backfield (this is the game, Jordan — spread those wings!).

WEEK 3 NFL PICKS ADVICE: Pick 'em pools | Survivor Pools

Courtland-Sutton-082018-Getty-FTR

Courtland Sutton to score a TD (+185)

Sutton has easily served as Wilson’s favorite target in the early-going this season, with nearly 25 percent of the future Hall-of-Famers passing attempts headed Sutton’s way. With Jeudy and Hamler banged up, expect this trend to continue this Sunday night. Denver must throw the ball to beat the 49ers, who have allowed just one rushing TD and the second-fewest ground yards in the NFL this season. Sutton has 11 catches for 194 yards so far this season, but no TDs to show for it. He will find paydirt this weekend.

Melvin-Gordon-102821-Getty-FTR

Melvin Gordon III UNDER 9.5 rushing attempts (-107)

Last week against Houston, we finally saw second-year back Javonte Williams dominate Denver’s backfield touches over Gordon. After garnering just seven carries in Week 1 (compared to Gordon’s 12), Williams out-carried Gordon 15-10 in Week 2. The results: Williams netted 75 ground yards, while MG3 tallied 47. Gordon still has plenty left in his 29-year-old tank, but the 22-year-old Williams is simply faster, more elusive, and more durable. And against this 49ers front-seven, we might see Williams receiving more targets than Gordon receives carries. San Francisco has allowed just 105 total ground yards (1st in the NFL), but it has surrendered 60 passing yards to opposing RBs (15th). This might be the only way for the Broncos to move the chains via the running back position.

Other SNF player props we like: Deebo Samuel OVER 56.5 receiving yards (-115); Brandon Aiyuk UNDER 49.5 receiving yards (-119); Brandon McManus and Robbie Gould OVER 1.5 made field goals (each prop at -113); Wilson OVER 0.5 interceptions (+100); Jimmy Garoppolo UNDER 234.5 passing yards (-123); Alternate total points: UNDER 45.5 (-142); Alternate handicap: Broncos +3.5 (-174)
