The Denver Broncos survived a late charge by Andrew Luck on Sunday to beat the Indianapolis Colts 34-20 at Sports Authority Field.
C.J. Anderson scored Denver's lone offensive touchdown, as the running back finished the game with 74 yards on 20 carries. He also added 19 yards on three receptions.
Defense was the name of the game for the Broncos. Star cornerback Aqib Talib took an interception into the end zone to start the fourth quarter, and Shane Ray iced the game with a 15-yard fumble recovery for a touchdown with under 2 minutes to play.

There was some bad news for the Broncos.
Defensive end DeMarcus Ware suffered an elbow injury in the third quarter and did not return. He was injured on an 11-yard scramble by Luck, which was negated by a Colts holding penalty. Ware had been held out of training camp and all four of the Broncos' preseason games with back troubles, but had returned to play in the season opener.
Luck finished the game completing just 21 of his 40 pass attempts for 197 yards, a touchdown and an interception. He was unable to replicate his great Week 1 performance, when he threw four touchdowns in a win over the Lions.
