Brandon Weeden and Cowboys owner Jerry Jones have traded barbs back and forth since the Cowboys released him in November. It continued Monday when the quarterback made an appearance on 105.3 The Fan.
If you haven't been following, Jones started this whole thing by his about-turn, belittling comments about Weeden's play. Initially he said, "You won't see a more gifted passer," but he quickly changed his tune after Weeden's 0-3 record as a starter while filling in for an injured Tony Romo.
Weeden was eventually released on Nov. 17, and Jones threw more dirt on the grave by saying Matt Cassel would have won the games Weeden lost. He essentially pinpointed the losses directly at Weeden, and the 32-year-old quarterback did not appreciate it.

"He kind of threw some shots at me, not only while I was there, but after I was gone," he said. "I didn't think it was appropriate at the time. I was out of there and they were still trying to win games. I just thought they were kind of uncalled for, personally. I know no one is going to stand up for me, so I have to kind of stand up for myself a little bit. I have no hard feelings toward him and definitely no one in that organization."
Speaking on his time in Dallas, Weeden added that he "wanted it to work out so bad," but just couldn't put together the wins. He also feels he didn't play "all that bad" during his time there, aside from the third game — a 30-6 loss to the Patriots when Weeden was 26 of 39 for 187 yards and an interception.
