Jerry Hughes just might finish his career in Buffalo.

The Bills signed the veteran defensive end to a two-year contract extension, the team announed Tuesday.

Financial terms were not disclosed, though NFL Media reports the deal is for $21.35 million and includes $19.75 million guaranteed with a $6.3 million signing bonus.

"I'm super excited," Hughes said. "First and foremost, I've got to thank the Pegulas, Beane, coach McDermott for knocking this deal out really believing in me.

"I'm excited to get to work. God is good so I mean with that being said, I'm happy to get my mind focused back on football get back to where we can you know take over this AFC East and make another playoff run."

Hughes, who was entering the final year of his contract, also expressed his excitement about staying in Buffalo on Twitter.

Hughes, 30, was selected by the Colts with the No. 31 overall pick of the 2010 draft but was traded to the Bills for linebacker Kelvin Sheppard in April 2013.

He is coming off one of his most productive seasons after leading Buffalo in sacks (seven), quarterback hurries (18), tackles for loss (13) and forced fumbles (three) last season.

He has 42 sacks and 281 tackles over six seasons in Buffalo.
