Best prop bets for Eagles-49ers NFC Championship Game: Over/under picks for the Jalen Hurts, Robbie Gould, more image

With only three games remaining in the season, time is ticking for bettors to get action down on the NFL. Since Sunday's Eagles-49ers NFC championship game is projected to be a close contest, some bettors might prefer to risk more of their bankroll into prop markets relative to the side and total.

We've explored the current prop markets available on DraftKings Sportsbook has to offer and found five actionable props for the NFC championship game, including over/under picks on Jalen Hurts' longest completion and Robbie Gould's total made field goals.

Jalen Hurts' longest completion OVER 38.5 yards (-125)

As we mentioned in our betting preview, Hurts was uber-aggressive as a passer in last season's meeting against the 49ers, ending the game with an aDOT of 14.6 yards after seven of his 23 pass attempts traveled at least 20 yards. Last season, the Eagles' offense wasn't nearly as potent in the vertical passing game as it is this season, so we could see Hurts be even more aggressive this time around. We're thinking he connects with either A.J. Brown or DeVonta Smith for a chunk play through the air that cashes his OVER 38.5 longest completion prop.

Kenneth Gainwell OVER 11.5 rush yards (-120)

While Miles Sanders is likely going to see the bulk of the carries, we can't pass up taking Gainwell to record at least 11 rushing yards in an Eagles offense sporting the league's highest rush EPA. Gainwell's coming off an efficient 12-carry, 112-yard performance in the divisional round. Most of that was game-script dependent, though, as the Eagles controlled from the get-go. However, Gainwell has a good shot to see at least four carries this week (as he has in three of his past four games) and eclipse 11.5 total rushing yards (something he's also done in three of the past four games). We're also expecting the Eagles to play with a lead, and another positive game script should translate to Gainwell seeing even more work than normal.

Quez Watkins UNDER 1.5 receptions (-125)

With Watkins struggling down the stretch of the regular season and ceding snaps to Zach Pascal last week, we're not expecting him to see much action in the passing game. Even with a positive game script last week, Watkins played on just 22 of Philadelphia's 70 offensive snaps (31 percent). Hurts has a bevy of other weapons in the passing game, and considering Watkins has just three catches total in his past four games, two seems like a stretch this week.

Robbie Gould OVER 1.5 field goals made (-135)

The 49ers' offense had some trouble in the red zone last week, scoring just one TD on three trips. On the season, San Francisco ranks in the bottom half of the league in red-zone touchdown rate, scoring a TD on 54 percent of their trips (17th in NFL). Conversely, Philadelphia's defense ranks in the top half of the league in red-zone defense, holding opponents to a 52.7 percent red-zone touchdown rate (12th). The 49ers ended up attempting four field goals last week with two other drives ending right outside the red zone. We're banking on the Eagles' defense forcing the 49ers' offense to stall out at least two times in or around the red zone, resulting in Gould connecting on two field goals.

Eagles alternate spread -5 (+135)

Despite the 49ers entering Sunday's NFC championship game amid a 12-game winning streak, we're expecting the Eagles to advance to their second Super Bowl in six seasons. Along with backing the Eagles at -2.5 (-120), we'll sprinkle a bit on their alternate spread at -5 (+135). Even after omitting last week's 31-point win, the Eagles' average point differential in the regular season was 7.82 points per game. Yes, the 49ers are a completely different animal, but they haven't faced any of the league's elite teams during their red-hot stretch.
