The Bengals and Steelers each confirmed Friday what many had suspected: They'll be without key offensive contributors for Saturday's AFC wild-card game in Cincinnati.
Bengals quarterback Andy Dalton (thumb) and Steelers running back DeAngelo Williams (foot) both were officially ruled out of the game between AFC North rivals, NFL.com reported.

Dalton is still healing from a broken thumb on his right (throwing) hand suffered in a Week 14 loss to the Steelers. The Bengals had been hopeful they would get Dalton back for the postseason, but they'll instead have to turn again to backup AJ McCarron, who'll make his first playoff start.
Williams hasn't practiced this week because of the foot injury he suffered in last weekend's regular-season finale against the Browns.
Steelers offensive coordinator Todd Haley told reporters Thursday that running back Fitzgerald Toussaint would be "the guy" this week if Williams couldn't play. Haley also said that running back Jordan Todman will be heavily involved in the offense.

Bengals running back Ryan Hewitt (knee) also was ruled out for the game, but Cincy cornerback Leon Hall (concussion, back) is listed as probable.
