Tony Romo may never get his job back.
Rookie Dak Prescott turned in another masterful performance Sunday as the Dallas Cowboys picked apart the Cincinnati Bengals with surgical precision.

Prescott threw for 227 yards and a touchdown and ran for another score to lead the Cowboys to a 28-14 victory at AT&T Stadium.
The Cowboys' other standout rookie, running back Ezekiel Elliott, also had a big game with 134 rushing yards and two touchdowns on just 15 carries. Elliott put an exclamation point on the win with a 60-yard run to give the Cowboys a 28-0 third-quarter lead.

Elliott now leads the NFL with 546 rushing yards and joins Mike Anderson and Hall of Famer Eric Dickerson as the only rookies in NFL history with three straight games of at least 130 rushing yards.
Since Romo injured his back early in Dallas' third preseason game, Prescott has been on fire. He was the NFL's highest-rated passer in the preseason and extended his NFL rookie record for pass attempts without an interception on Sunday. Prescott has now gone 155 attempts without throwing a pick while tossing four touchdowns to lead the Cowboys to a 4-1 record.
The only negative on the day for Prescott was a fumble late in the third quarter as the Cowboys were driving for another touchdown. Prescott was hit by Cincinnati's Carlos Dunlap and lost the ball, which rolled around the turf before getting scooped up by Bengals linebacker Vincent Rey.
The Bengals (2-3) capitalized on the turnover by going 59 yards on 10 carries and finally getting on the board with Andy Dalton's 7-yard touchdown pass to Brandon LaFell.
As good as the Cowboys rookies were on offense, the Cowboys defense deserves a ton of credit as well. Bengals receiver A.J. Green was coming off a 10-catch, 173-yard performance against the Miami Dolphins, but was held to just four receptions for 50 yards on Sunday.
Dalton was pressured for much of the game with four sacks and nine quarterback hits. He finished the game 29 of 41 for 269 yards and two fourth-quarter touchdowns to LaFell.
Meanwhile, the Bengals didn't get a lot of pressure on the Cowboys rookie quarterback, allowing him to remain calm and poised in the pocket.
The Cowboys have said Romo will be the team's starter once he's healthy. But nobody could fault Cowboys coach Jason Garrett if he sticks with the hot hand in Prescott.
