If you were expecting the starting quarterbacks in Sunday night's Cowboys-Eagles game to be at least functional, well, sorry about that. Dallas rookie Ben DiNucci and Philadelphia veteran Carson Wentz both left a lot to be desired in the Week 8 battle for first place in the NFC East.
DiNucci completed 21 of 40 passes for 180 yards, lost two fumbles — one of which was returned for a touchdown — and spent a lot of his time rolling toward the sideline at the first sign of a pass rush. Wentz was 15 for 27 for 123 yards, with two touchdowns, two interceptions and two lost fumbles.
Both quarterbacks also made multiple throws that could have/should have been intercepted.

Both passers were sacked four times, as well.
The Cowboys led at halftime on the strength of three Greg Zuerlein field goals. Wentz threw his second interception on the first drive of the second half to add to the hilarity. DiNucci followed by leading the Cowboys on a drive consisting of mostly runs, only to see Zuerlein miss from 52 yards to keep it a two-point game.
MORE: Breaking down Carson Wentz's huge contract
Wentz led a touchdown drive, capped by his second TD pass, to put the Eagles ahead to stay. DiNucci's second fumble was run back for Philly's final touchdown. An intentional Dallas safety late in the fourth quarter made the final margin 23-9 for the Birds.
For those watching on TV, either for business or pleasure, and commenting on Twitter, this was just . . . bad.
A note from Cowboys QB Ben DiNucci: "This NFL thing, it’s hard."

Eagles want to face Ben DiNucci every week. Cowboys want to face Carson Wentz every week.

The Cowboys scored more in Dak Prescott's final 4th quarter (24) than they've scored in three games without him (22).

HC Mike McCarthy and his #Cowboys coaching staff obviously has no faith in rookie QB Ben DiNucci being able to play conventional offensive football.

Remember when #NFL used replacement players? This game reminds me of this.

How much are the eagles paying Carson wentz to look worse than a rookie 3rd stringer
