Kyle Long can't seem to overcome his injuries.
The Bears announced Monday their right guard was placed on injured reserve as he continues to deal with a lingering hip issue.
In a corresponding move, the Bears have signed defensive lineman Abdullah Anderson to the active roster.
NFL Media noted that this could be Long's final year in Chicago, since he has no guaranteed money due and a $9.6 million cap number.
The move would mark the fourth consecutive season Long has been placed on IR. He hasn't started more than nine games in any season since 2016.
Long, a three-time Pro Bowl selection, was initially a first-round pick of the Bears in 2013 and restructured his contract this offseason to remain with the team. His salary was reduced from $7 million to $4.1 million in the wake of his numerous injuries.
However, Long isn't the lone reason Chicago's offensive line has struggled this season, as the team has allowed 13 sacks and 26 quarterback hits through the first five weeks.
The Bears (3-2) are next slated to host the Saints (5-1) in Week 7 action.
