Chicago hits the road to Tennessee in an early-afternoon game on Fox as both teams look to end two-game losing streaks and return to form when they sat atop their respective divisions.
The Bears (5-3) lost in overtime to New Orleans in Week 8 in a game where the headline was the multiple punches thrown by receiver Javon Wims who was subsequently suspended two weeks. Chicago has ridden its defense to five wins this year with very little help from the offense, instigating an on-going quarterback debate. Mitchell Trubisky was the starter for three weeks before being replaced by Nick Foles, but now there is clamoring to revert back to Trubisky in favor of his ability to use his legs and open up the offense.
Tennessee (5-2) was one of three remaining unbeaten teams before dropping games to Pittsburgh in Week 7 and then surprisingly falling to Cincinnati last weekend. There's been no shortage or running in Tennessee as Derrick Henry leads the NFL in rushing attempts and yards, and ranks second in rushing touchdowns. The defense, however, has sputtered, particularly on third down. The Titans allow opponents to convert on an unprecedented 61.8 percent of third-down tries. No NFL team has ever finished a season allowing teams to convert over 50 percent of third-down tries.
Playing the Bears is the first of a daunting five-game stretch for the Titans who play five straight teams that are at least two games over .500. By comparison Chicago has just two games of similar type remaining in the entire season, both coming against Green Bay.
