Bears vs. Steelers final score, results: Steelers hang on for home victory after Bears missed field goal image

The Steelers overcame a subpar offensive outing and — helped by a three-for-three kicking performance from Chris Boswell — survived the Bears in a 29-27 "Monday Night Football" victory.

Pittsburgh saw flashes from its young skill position players, as running back Najee Harris (22 carries, 62 yards, one score) and tight end Pat Freiermuth (five receptions, 43 yards, two touchdowns). But the biggest hero in their narrow win was Boswell, who kicked three fourth-quarter field goals of 54, 52 and a 40 yards — the last with 26 seconds remaining — to eke out the victory.

Bears rookie quarterback Justin Fields ended the matchup completing 17 of 29 yards for 291 yards, a touchdown and an interception. He also added 45 rushing yards. His seven completions on balls 15-plus yards downfield in the game tied for the most by a Bears quarterback over the past 15 seasons, according to ESPN. He connected with Cole Kmet for 87 yards and found Darnell Mooney in the end zone to give the Bears their first lead of the night with 1:46 left in the game.

However, the Bears were called for a season-high 12 penalties for 115 yards that cost them any scoring opportunities.
