According to The Leap's Jason B. Hirschhorn, the Atlanta Falcons sign Minnesota State defensive back Trey Vaval to become an undrafted free agent. While he is a cornerback, don't expect Vaval to come into Atlanta and look to compete for any snaps in the defensive backfield. At 5'10", 173 pounds, Vaval is too lean to be able to deal with the physicality of the NFL's receivers.
However, Vaval does show some upside as a returner. He has the speed and instinct to make defenders miss in open space.

With the new kickoff return rules, players like Vaval, who can find open space and make a play off of one cut, will find chances to stick on NFL rosters.
