Every year, the NFLPA invites a select number of rookies to their annual Rookie Premiere. The event is a networking opportunity for some of the bigger names in the year's rookie class. It allows them to meet with some of the marquee names in the sports industry, including several NFLPA partners such as Fanatics, EA Sports, DraftKings, Pepsi, Panini, etc. This year, according to NFL Network's Mike Garafolo, the Atlanta Falcons have one representative headed to this year's event: former Washington Husky Michael Penix Jr.
Despite the plan for Penix to not start for at least two years, the quarterback has flooded the headlines post-NFL draft because of the unprecedented nature of the pick. Penix is the future of the franchise for Atlanta and this event allows businesses to see the person behind the helmet and see if they want to buy stock in the brand that is Michael Penix, Jr.
