NFL Media's Ian Rapoport reports that the Atlanta Falcons are hosting a fan-favorite on a pre-draft visit in Georgia wide receiver Ladd McConkey. McConkey is in Flowery Branch participating in the local Pro Day the Falcons are hosting for Georgia-based prospects.
Since the beginning of the draft process, McConkey's draft stock has been a topic of discussion. Nobody questions his talent, McConkey has a solid case to be the best route-runner and separator in this uber-talented receiver class.
At 6'0" and 185 pounds, there are concerns about his play strength and ability to fight through the physicality of NFL defensive backs, there is no denying that McConkey is one of the smarter, more fluid receivers you will find. McConkey was a consistent force for the Bulldogs during their back-to-back National Championship runs in 2021 and 2022 when he was a freshman and sophomore, respectively.
He also checks the box for off-the-field accolades, winning the Wuerffel Trophy, an award for the player "who best combines exemplary community service with athletic and academic achievement." McConkey fits the bill of a Falcon both on the field and off of it, all they need now is for him to fall to them at pick 43.
