Every year since 1969, the Pro Football Writers of America (PFWA) select a reporter to win the Bill Nunn Jr. Award for their "long and distinguished contribution to pro football through coverage." This year, Longtime Atlanta Falcons beat reporter for the Atlanta Journal-Constitution D.Orlando Ledbetter, Esq. won the award, beating out fellow candidates Mary Kay Cabot of the Cleveland Plain Dealer, Vic Carucci of The 33rd Team/SiriusXM, Jeff Legwold of ESPN.com and Barry Wilner of the Associated Press.

Ledbetter, Esq. has been covering the Falcons for over 20 years for AJC while becoming one of the more respected voices in the country for his candor and wit. Ledbetter, Esq. has appeared on programs such as ESPN's SportsCenter, First Take, Cold Pizza, Quite Frankly with Stephen A. Smith and MSNBC. He also was one of the lead writers in the federal case involving Michael Vick's dog-fighting.
Ledbetter is a three-time APSE Award-winner and an adjunct professor at Clark-Atlanta University and the University of Georgia's Grady School of Journalism and Mass Communication.
