Arian Foster will not wear a Texans uniform next season, the running back's agent confirmed Thursday.

Foster, 29, suffered a torn Achilles last season and played in only four games, gaining 163 yards on 63 carries for a measly 2.6 yards per carry.

Foster was set to make $6.5 million in 2016, but Texans GM Rick Smith said the decision to cut Foster wouldn’t hinge on money.

“As it relates to all the free agent conversations, I’m never really going to tell you one way or the other what we are doing, but I will tell you this: his salary is not a reason why we would cut Arian,” Smith told reporters at last week’s Combine.

Foster will leave the franchise as its all-time leader in carries (1,454), rushing yards (6,472) and touchdowns (54). Those accomplishments are all the more impressive considering he went undrafted out of Tennessee.
