Anquan Boldin didn't waste very much time trying to motivate his new Detroit Lions teammates.
After officially signing a one-year deal that NFL.com reports is worth $2.75 million that includes a $750,000 signing bonus, Boldin took to Twitter and stated "The Lions are a great young team that I hope I can help lead back to the playoffs with a goal of a championship for my new fans in Detroit."

He also mentioned that one of the deciding factors in choosing the Lions was a chance for him to reunite with head coach Jim Caldwell — the two spent time together in Baltimore while Caldwell served as the quarterbacks coach and offensive coordinator.
Boldin, who hauled in 69 receptions for 789 yards and four touchdowns last season, also visited the New Orleans Saints. There were even reports earlier in July that the Saints and Boldin were close to a deal.
In the end, the Lions added a veteran pass catcher who looks likely to make the 53-man roster and serve as the team's possession receiver.
Boldin has 1,009 career receptions for 13,195 yards and 74 touchdowns.
