The Detroit Lions saw wide receiver Amon-Ra St. Brown suffer an injury during their Week 2 loss to the Tampa Bay Buccaneers. After the game, head coach Dan Campbell provided the latest update on the star wide receiver.
St. Brown suffered an apparent leg injury in the third quarter of Sunday's contest after he caught a 17-yard pass from quarterback Jared Goff. St. Brown was able to return to the game shortly thereafter, though.
However, St. Brown appeared to aggravate the injury in the fourth quarter, which led to him hobbling to the sideline before he went to the ground in obvious pain. Here's what Campbell said about the issue.
Amon-Ra St. Brown injury update
Campbell did not provide specifics on St. Brown's injury, but he did give some good news, revealing that the Lions wide receiver's injury isn't considered a long-term issue.
"He's alright," Campbell said, per Jared Ramsey of the Detroit Free Press. "I don't think it is anything long term, so that's good news."
While it's good to see St. Brown won't be out for long, it remains to be seen if he'll be healthy enough to play in Week 3 against the Arizona Cardinals. But St. Brown is as tough as they come, so he's got a better shot than most to take the field.
Before he exited the game for the final time, St. Brown recorded 11 catches for 119 yards, both team highs. It was quite the bounce-back performance for the veteran, who was quiet in the Week 1 win over the Los Angeles Rams.
