Amari Cooper may be dealing with an ankle issue.
The Cowboys star wide receiver underwent a "precautionary" MRI on Wednesday, according to a report from the Dallas Morning News, which cites an unidentified league source.
Cooper has caught 16 passes for 238 yards with four touchdowns during the Cowboys' 3-0 start to the season.
Dallas acquired Cooper from the Raiders in October 2018 in exchange for a first-round pick and he quickly developed into a top target for quarterback Dak Prescott.

“I think it could be real special,” Cooper said last week when asked about his relationship with Prescott (via the team's official website). “We just have to continue to be on the same page. Like I said, I think our games match each other well. Obviously, he’s becoming a better player, I’m becoming a better player and I think the sky’s the limit because if we can both stick around here for a long time we’ll be able to grow together.”
Cooper was sidelined for much of training camp and the preseason with a left foot strain, but he returned to practice in early September and was on the field in Week 1.
The Cowboys are thin at wide receiver as Michael Gallup had knee surgery earlier this month and Tavon Austin has missed the last two games with a concussion.
Dallas will face the Saints in New Orleans on Sunday with kickoff set for 8:20 p.m. ET.
