The Bears will be without Pro Bowl wide receiver Alshon Jeffery for the next four games after he was suspended without pay for violating the NFL policy on performance enhancing substances, the league announced Monday.
Jeffery's suspension begins immediately. He will be eligible to return to the Bears’ active roster on Dec. 12.
Jeffery, who is scheduled to be a free agent this offseason, has 630 receiving yards on 40 catches and one touchdown this season. Playing on the franchise tag, the suspension is a major hit to Jeffery's wallet as it will cost him $3,435,058.
