Philadelphia's receiving corps was depleted during its 27-24 loss to Detroit on Sunday, but it's hoping to regain some depth against the Packers on Thursday.
Wideouts Alshon Jeffery (calf) and DeSean Jackson (abdominal) both suffered injuries in the Eagles' Week 2 loss to Atlanta, but coach Doug Pederson is optimistic the team can get Jeffery back for Week 4.
“I’m hoping that he’s ready to go,” Pederson told reporters Monday. “We’ll see this week. We’ve got a couple days. Walkthrough later today, we’ll get the guys in here. We’re hoping he’s ready to go.”
Jeffery is in his third season with the Eagles and has become one of quarterback Carson Wentz's favorite targets since joining the team in 2017.
He's tallied 127 receptions for 1,681 yards and 16 touchdowns during his stint with Philadelphia including five catches for 49 yards and a score in 2019
Jefferey's consistency is something the Eagles could use as the team dropped seven passes against the Lions over the weekend.
But Pederson is emphasizing the team's need to "trust in" its players, regardless of the mistakes they make. That doesn't mean the Eagles (1-2) couldn't use a helping hand.
