Alfred Morris no longer will carry the ball out of the Redskins’ backfield, but he will remain in the NFC East.

Morris, entering his fifth season out of Florida Atlantic, will sign a two-year deal with the Cowboys, ESPN reported Tuesday.

Morris had a down season in a timeshare backfield in Washington last year with 751 yards and one touchdown on 202 carries. However, prior to 2015, Morris had three consecutive 1,000-yard seasons, including a stellar rookie year in 2012, when he rushed for 1,613 yards and 13 touchdowns on 335 carries.

Morris, 27, will join Darren McFadden in a Dallas backfield behind arguably the strongest offensive line in the NFL.
