A.J. Green remains out indefinitely.
The star wide receiver, who has yet to play this season because of an ankle injury, will miss the Bengals' matchup with the Steelers in Pittsburgh and there's still no timetable for his return, coach Zac Taylor told reporters Tuesday.
"I don't expect him to practice this week," Taylor said, via Cincinnati.com. "I guess that would be the update. He continues to make good progress on the rehab field. I really hate to make a prediction on what his timeline is. Because I think he's making the progress, we expect him to make."
Green suffered the injury early in training camp and underwent surgery in late July. He had his walking boot removed earlier this month.
"He's certainly turned in the right direction," Taylor said. "I don't want to give any timeline — next week, the week after, week after that. I don't want to get into that stuff. It will be exciting when we get him back."
Green, 31, has made seven Pro Bowls over his eight-year career, which has all been spent with Cincinnati. He caught 46 passes for 694 yards with six touchdowns in nine games last season.
The Bengals have opened the season 0-3. Their game against the Steelers will kick off Monday at 8:15 p.m. ET.
