Adrian Peterson suffered a slight hamstring pull while working out last week, but the Vikings are confident it won't keep him sidelined long.
Although the running back missed the team's first two practices, coach Mike Zimmer stressed Saturday that patience is important in recovery and clarified the veteran is being eased back into action to avoid aggravating the injury.

"He can do things; he just can't turn it all the way loose," Zimmer said, via ESPN. "We're just being careful."
Peterson passed a conditioning test on Friday and worked out on the sidelines with team trainers on Saturday. As he rehabilitates during his light workload, the Vikings will give other players like fellow rusher Jerick McKinnon the opportunity to show off their skills.
"It's good we get to see some of these young backs. But [Peterson will] be out here fairly soon, I think," Zimmer said.

Last month, Peterson discussed calling it quits to avoid the toll the NFL offseason takes on him. He insists "training camp probably took five, 10 years off my career" and added by the end of it "you don't want to do anything."
