Aaron Rodgers didn't give the Packers a discount-double check when he re-upped in Green Bay.
Make no mistake, not only is Rodgers a baaaaad maaaaaaan, in the words of Stephen A. Smith, he's also a paid man: Rodgers signed a four-year extension with the Packers in August 2018, keeping him in a Green Bay uniform through the (seeming) end of his career. At minimum, the twilight years.
Green Bay has been very, very green to Rodgers: More than simply the years on his deals, with over $200 million banked in his NFL life, Rodgers has become one of the highest paid players in NFL history, with his total earnings placing him in the top 10 in NFL history in total earnings.
Signing three high-priced extensions throughout his career, Rodgers is sitting pretty with money in the bank and cash yet to come. Here's how it breaks down:

Aaron Rodgers contract with Packers
In 2018, Rodgers and the Packers inked a new four-year pact, extending the incumbent quarterback and keeping him in Green Bay (if contract terms are completed) through the 2023 season.
Rodgers' deal features a $57.5 million signing bonus, spread evenly across five seasons (2018-2022), with a potential out of the contract following the 2022 season. Realistically, the Packers likely won't be out of the Rodgers contract until after the 2023 season, fulfilling the terms of the deal. That is, unless, they want to incur the $17 million-plus dead cap penalty by cutting or trading Rodgers following the 2021 season, which is a hefty-but manageable number.
The move would also put rookie quarterback Jordan Love on the field, three years into his rookie deal.
