Where Did Some of the Original Atlanta Falcons Draft Picks Go?

2025 NFL Draft Prosects to Watch

Deone Walker, NT, Kentucky

  • 6-foot-6, 344 pounds
  • Junior
  • Age on Draft Night: 21

Big. Boy. Football. A 4-star recruit from Detroit’s national powerhouse Cass Tech, Deone Walker is the greatest testament of Head Coach Mark Stoops’s commitment to recruiting Ohio and north, unlike his Kentucky predecessors.

Featuring freaky size, Walker stacks accolades, (Freshman All-American, All-SEC & All-American), double teams, and stats: 12.5 TFLs and 7.5 sacks in 2023 for example. He’s not just a plug, Walker sports 5.1 speed.

A team Captain off the tape, you’ll find Walker playing all across the defensive line on it. 1-tech, 3-tech, 5-tech, Walker is doing Jordan Davis-level athletic anomalies as dropping back into second-level coverage at 350 pounds.

Considering the current Falcons defensive line 2-deep below, add heaviest active contributor Eddie Goldman (30 years old, 2x retired) into the mix too (325 pounds). David Onyemata (31 years old) tips the scale at 300 pounds in this transition from a Ryan Nielsen 4-3 Press Man defensive scheme to new Defensive Coordinator Jimmy Lake’s 3-4 Off Zone that requires more interior beef.

#13 on my current 2025 NFL Draft Board, Walker is a Day 1 pick.

Jabbar Muhammad, CB, Oregon

  • 5-foot-10, 184 pounds
  • RS Senior (4 years at OK State, 2023 at Washington)
  • Age on Draft Night: 23
Ben Lonergan - USA Today Sports Network

Former Husky Head Coach Jimmy Lake and this Falcons staff obviously liked Washington/Oregon in 2024, selecting QB Michael Penix Jr., OLB Bralen Trice, & 5T Brandon Dorlus.

An experienced zone defender, there’s even more translatable familiarity between programs for CB Jabbar Muhammad. A 2nd-Team All-Pac 12 member in 2023, Muhammad started 15 games on a CFP run that made it to the National Championship vs. Michigan, with 19 Passes Deflected, 46 tackles, 5 TFLs, 2 sacks, and 3 INTs.

Inside-outside versatility in a similar defense adds to the developmental foundation in 2024 for Muhammad on Head Coach Dan Lanning’s Oregon Ducks.

Muhammad is a likely Day 2 pick who can rise with improved tackling in 2024.

Theo Wease Jr., WR, Missouri

Jerome Milton - USA Today Sports
  • 6-foot-2, 195 pounds
  • Senior
  • Age on Draft Night: 23

A 5-star recruit at Allen High School (TX)? Gets no bigger. 36 games in Norman, Oklahoma started Theo Wease Jr.’s collegiate career. After his 2023 Missouri transfer, the WR2 to projected Top-15 pick Luther Burden III brought Theo Wease Jr. 13 starts, 49 catches, 682 yards (13.9 avg.) and 6 touchdowns of production as a vertical threat with very good hands. Wease Jr. has himself locked into Day 3. Continuing to develop his release package and extending his route tree in 2024 along with blocking figures to be his personal goals at a chance at Day 2.

Size of the current Atlanta Falcons’ wide receiver room:

Bring some size into this room in 2025.
