WSB Atlanta's Zach Klein has it from multiple sources that the Atlanta Falcons are rumored to start the 2024 NFL season against the Pittsburgh Steelers. Steelers coordinator Arthur Smith would be chomping at the bit to prove his offense is effective after three years of mediocrity in his tenure as head coach for the Falcons.
This would be only the third time the Falcons opened against the Steelers in their history and would make for a blockbuster season opener to start the Raheem Morris era in Atlanta. Morris said himself that if the quarterback play had been better last year, he would not have had an opportunity to be the head coach for the Falcons. With this game, he can show, with certainty, that the franchise's future is in better hands.
