The Minnesota Vikings 2024 NFL Draft class is a really interesting one. They made seven selections but the most important one was who they selected at 10th overall in Michigan QB J.J. McCarthy.
The Vikings chose to move on from Kirk Cousins this offseason after years of discussions on that exact subject. The team did bring in Sam Darnold but he is essentially a stop gap quarterback while McCarthy gets prepared to take the reins at the position.
McCarthy himself is in an interesting position. He is 61-3 since he started high school as a starting quarterback but there are still questions about him when it comes to sample size. The Michigan Wolverines ran the ball a ton and McCarthy didn't play in seven fourth quarters in 2023.
