Bad news for the Jets: They are awful, as evidenced by their 26-18 loss Sunday to the previously winless Dolphins.
Good news for the Jets: Being more awful than those Dolphins gets them a better pick in the 2020 NFL Draft, which will be helpful after this already-lost 2019 season.
MORE: Latest 2020 NFL mock draft
Shortly after New York's embarrassing defeat in Miami, Sporting News contributor Jason Fitzgerald configured and tweeted the updated order of the first 15 picks in next year's draft. Once the Cowboys beat the Giants on Monday night to end Week 9, we were able to determine the updated 2020 NFL Draft order for the entire first round.
Below is the update heading into Week 10 of the 2019 NFL season.

- Washington Redskins (1-8)
- New York Jets (1-7)
- Miami Dolphins (1-7)
- Atlanta Falcons (1-7)
- New York Giants (1-7)
- Cleveland Browns (2-6)
- Tampa Bay Buccaneers (3-6)
- Denver Broncos (3-6)

- Jacksonville Jaguars (via 5-3 Rams)
(Picks 21-32 are held by the teams currently in the NFL playoff picture.)
In Sporting News' latest mock draft, we projected the Bengals to have the No. 1 overall pick and select LSU quarterback Joe Burrow. We then slotted Alabama quarterback Tua Tagovailoa to the Dolphins at No. 2.
The Jets (seemingly) are set at quarterback with Sam Darnold, so even if the Dolphins fail to get one of the top two picks in the 2020 NFL Draft, they might still land one of the two projected top passers.
The Redskins and Falcons, slotted at Nos. 3 and No. 4 in SN's latest mock, are projected to draft Georgia tackle Andrew Thomas and Ohio State pass-rusher Chase Young, respectively.
As for the Jets, who were positioned at No. 5 overall in SN's latest mock, we had them selecting Alabama wide receiver Jerry Jeudy.
