Buccaneers quarterback Jameis Winston will cap his rookie season with a trip to the Pro Bowl — thanks to Tom Brady.
The No. 1 overall pick from last year's draft was added to the roster late Monday, the Buccaneers announced. He replaces Brady, who had been set to make his 11th Pro Bowl appearance as the top vote-getter in fan balloting this season.

Brady's season ended Sunday in the Patriots' AFC championship game loss to the Broncos. It's not clear whether he declined to play in Hawaii because of injury or another reason.
Winston, 22, is the first rookie quarterback named to a Pro Bowl roster since Andrew Luck and Robert Griffin III in 2013. He lifted the Buccaneers from the NFL's basement to a 6-10 record in 2015, becoming the third rookie passer in NFL history to throw for more than 4,000 yards in a season.
Winston finished the year having completed 58.3 percent of his passes with 22 touchdowns and 15 interceptions. He found the end zone six more times on the ground, rushing for 213 yards.
