With the No. 5 overall pick, the Jaguars decided to select Florida State defensive back Jalen Ramsey.
Ramsey has the versatility to play every position in the secondary. He was a three-year starter for the Seminoles as well as a three-time All-American selection. At 6-1, 209 pounds, Ramsey has great size and isn’t afraid to come up to make a tackle. The former track standout, who was the ACC long jump champion in 2015, might be the best overall athlete in the draft.

Get the analysis.Hailed by many as the best player in the draft, Ramsey wowed scouts at the NFL Scouting Combine with a 4.41 40-yard dash and excellent vertical and broad jumps. The former Seminoles star is much more than a physical specimen, however. Scouts hail him for his sound technique in pass coverage, and he's big enough to be a major asset in run support.
Ramsey is the is the eighth Jimbo Fisher player to be drafted in the first round since 2011 and joins former Seminoles Rashad Greene and Telvin Smith on the Jags' roster.
He was the first FSU player since Deion Sanders to start as a true freshman at cornerback and embraced his hybrid role at corner and safety during his sophomore season.
In three seasons, he racked up 180 tackles (15.5 for loss), five sacks, three forced fumbles, three interceptions and 23 pass breakups.
