Aaron Rodgers has been in similar situations to what the New York Jets are currently experiencing.
Falling to 2-3 overall after back-to-back losses, the Jets have given their critics an opportunity to chirp. As the outside noise ratchets up, Rodgers knows the path the team must follow to stop from sinking.
"The most important positive to take with us is if we stick together. There will be a lot of people outside the building who won't be sticking with the Jets. We stick together. I still have a lot of confidence in this team," said Rodgers after a 23-17 loss to the Minnesota Vikings in London.
The 40-year-old Rodgers is as battle-tested as they come and has a history of success in the face of challenging circumstances.
In Rodgers's second season as an NFL starter, the Green Bay Packers fell to 2-2 after a loss to the Vikings and proceeded to finish 11-5. In 2012, the Packers started 2-3 on their way to 11-5. In 2016, Green Bay was 4-6 before six consecutive wins earned them the NFC North title.
Rodgers, a four-time NFL MVP, sees that potential in the 2024 Jets.
"I think it's a team that's going to make a run, and whether that run starts next week, the following week, or whenever it might be, I'm confident in our guys. I'm confident in the leadership and confident we'll get this thing straightened out," said Rodgers.
The Jets have the opportunity to notch an important division win when the Buffalo Bills visit for Monday Night Football on October 14.
