The New York Jets added a second non-participant to the injury report on Friday as they prepare for the Monday Night Football season opener on the road against the San Francisco 49ers.

While offensive lineman Wes Schweitzer was sidelined for the second straight practice due to a hand injury, second-year linebacker Zaire Barnes joined him with an ankle issue. Barnes, a 2023 sixth-round draft pick, is a defensive reserve who is in line to contribute on special teams.

The five other Jets on the injury report were all fully available on Friday. Coming off a vet rest day, left tackle Tyron Smith returned to full participation.

There's one more official update due out Saturday evening, but all New York starters appear ready to go for Week 1, including veteran wide receiver Mike Williams. Less than one year removed from his ACL tear, Williams will be deployed with limitations on Monday night.

The 49ers have a somewhat lengthy injury report for Week 1, but all eyes are on superstar running back Christian McCaffrey, who led the NFL in total scrimmage yards last year. One of 10 players on San Francisco's list, McCaffrey has been limited in practice due to a calf strain.

While addressing Bay Area reporters, McCaffrey said there's "no" doubt that he'll play against the Jets. Wide receiver Jauan Jennings (ankle) has also been limited.
