The New York Jets are on a roll offensively through the first three games of the season and there may be an opportunity to add a superstar weapon to the mix in the near future.
With the Las Vegas Raiders faltering mightily versus the Carolina Panthers this past Sunday, head coach Antonio Pierce voiced his displeasure with the attitude of some players on the team. Superstar WR Davante Adams was seen shaking his head prior to halftime and even slowing up on a couple of routes throughout the game while the Raiders were attempting to claw their way back into the game.

There wasn't any direct pointing of the fingers by the well-liked head coach, but his sentiment in Sunday's post-game presser suggests that Adams is most likely among the players he's talking about.
The Raiders are not supposed to be a playoff team this year with a sportsbook win total of 6.5, which is among one of the lowest in the NFL. They were coming off a surprising win over the Baltimore Ravens in Week 2 which raised many eyebrows, but followed it up with a stinker against the previously-winless Panthers and journeyman quarterback Andy Dalton.
Adams has had a tough time in Las Vegas with his former college and pro teammate Derek Carr having left in free agency a year ago. The Netflix show "Receiver" gave a fascinating insight into Adams' week-to-week with the Raiders and even then he looked like he had enough of the team, sulking on the bench and looking displeased with what was around him.
With little sight of a playoff appearance in the near future, it may make sense for the Raiders to trade Adams to recoup some capital. Adams is a 31-year-old receiver who will account for $44.1 million on the cap in 2025 hence why the Raiders should consider moving on.
The Jets seem like the perfect destination for Adams with his former long-time Green Bay Packers QB Aaron Rodgers now in New York. Jets' general manager Joe Douglas also has the money to facilitate a trade as any team that would trade for Adams would need $16.6 million in cap space and the Jets currently have $17.3 million because of the Haason Reddick absence.
Adams in New York would be a tremendous addition alongside a young star in Garrett Wilson and another great WR in Mike Williams who has looked solid so far. There have already been odds posted by betting sites on Adams' next potential team and the Jets are heavily favored (-300). Might not be much to put your stock in but his situation in Las Vegas should be a situation to monitor.
