If the San Francisco 49ers can get healthy over the next few weeks, they should have what it takes to contend for the Super Bowl this season.
San Francisco is loaded with talent on both sides of the ball, and this could be an important season for it. The 49ers won't be able to keep every player on the roster, and this could be the final season with the entire core together.
There already has started to be chatter about who could move on from San Francisco at the end of the season. 49ers cornerback Deommodore Lenoir was linked to the New York Jets by Bleacher Report's scouting department.
"2025 Free Agency: CB Deommodore Lenoir, San Francisco 49ers," Bleacher Report said. "A lot of the Jets' recent success on defense can be attributed to the cornerback tandem of Sauce Gardner and D.J. Reed. It's one of the best duos in the league. However, Reed is going to be a 28-year-old free agent who could cash in next season.
"Depending on what his contract will look like, the Jets might be willing to change course and target someone like Deommodore Lenoir. He'll only be 26 years old and has started to prove that he's a worthy starter."
The Jets have high hopes for the season themselves. New York fell against San Francisco in Week 1 action but bounced back with a Week 2 win. The Jets now have a healthy Aaron Rodgers under center and are hoping to make a deep run this season. They could use a boost at cornerback, and Lenoir could make sense, but it's too early to predict next offseason.
