Defensive tackle Quinnen Williams is a true New York Jets' success story.
Since being selected No. 3 overall in the 2019 NFL Draft, Williams has become a centerpiece on one of the league's most-feared defenses. He earned a second contract from the Jets last summer, signing a mega four-year deal reportedly worth $96 million.
According to ESPN's "best players at every position" series, the Jets got themselves a great value. In an annual survey of "league executives, coaches and scouts," Williams earned the No. 2 ranking amongst all active NFL defensive tackles.
Only Super Bowl champion Kansas City Chiefs' starter Chris Jones ranked higher than the Jets' franchise building block. Williams edged out New York Giants' DT Dexter Lawrence by pulling in "more first- and second-place votes than the field, save Jones."
Last year, Williams earned the No. 4 defensive tackle ranking after securing 2022 All-Pro First Team honors. In 2024, he's one spot from the top.
"The Jets' offensive woes can't mask Williams' impact -- he was a force in 2023. Williams' 29 incompletions created by his pass rush ties him with Jones. His 38% run stop win rate was tied for second at the position, and his 29 pressures ranked fourth among interior rushers," said ESPN senior writer Jeremy Fowler.

The 6-foot-3 Williams possesses great athleticism for his size. The defensive tackle is an all-around producer with ability to disrupt the passer and effectively stop the run. He also commands an unusual amount of attention from blockers, freeing up teammates to pressure the quarterback.
Over his last 33 games, Williams has totaled 17.5 sacks, 48 quarterback hits, three forced fumbles, one interception and six pass deflections.
