The New York Giants (2-4) had plenty of chances to pull off another upset but ultimately fell short in a 17-7 loss against the Cincinnati Bengals (2-4).
It was a rough game for quarterback Daniel Jones, who struggled despite being pressured at a 33.3% rate, 18th-most in Week 6, according to Next Gen Stats.
The Giants defense was strong, though, despite a tough matchup against an explosive Bengals offense. They gave up a 47-yard touchdown run to Joe Burrow on the opening drive, but they kept him out of the end zone and sacked him four times.
However, it's tough to win football games when the offense only scores seven points.
NFL power rankings Week 7
Following the ugly home loss to the Bengals, the Giants dropped a few spots in the power rankings entering Week 7, according to Vinnie Iyer of Sporting News.
26. New York Giants 2-4 (23)
"The Giants have gotten more interesting offense with Brian Daboll unleashing all the youngsters around Daniel Jones, but it hasn't always been productive. New York has to stop wasting strong defensive efforts," Iyer wrote.
There have been some promising developments on both sides of the ball and while Jones has mostly been a solid starter this season, his woes in prime time showed up again.
The Giants will be looking to get back on track with a tough matchup against the Philadelphia Eagles (3-2) at MetLife Stadium in Week 7.
