The New York Giants (1-2) pulled off a major upset on the road for their first win of the season over the Cleveland Browns (1-2).

The 21-15 win was a solid effort on both sides of the ball, especially from rookie Malik Nabers, who set a record as the youngest player in NFL history to record two touchdown receptions in a game.

Meanwhile, Daniel Jones put together a strong outing completing 24-of-34 passes for 236 yards, two touchdowns, no interceptions and a 109.4 passer rating.

Edge rusher Brian Burns and defensive tackle Dexter Lawrence set the tone with seven and six quarterback pressures, respectively, according to Next Gen Stats.

So after dwelling in the basement of the NFL power rankings during the first two weeks, the Giants began to show some life after their first win, according to Vinnie Iyer of Sporting News, rising five spots entering Week 4.

"25. New York Giants 1-2 (30)

The Giants have simplified their offense for Daniel Jones, just having him feed Malik Nabers and Devin Singletary often to take pressure off his own passing and running. Brian Daboll got a much-needed reprieve after winning in Cleveland," Iyer wrote.

It was a much-needed win for the Giants after they found themselves on the wrong side of history in the Week 2 loss against the Washington Commanders.

Things don't get easier with a short turnaround Thursday night against the Dallas Cowboys, but it was encouraging to see the offense show some life against a tough opponent in the Browns defense.

Though the playoffs are still unlikely reachable, the Giants at least give themselves a small chance to compete after avoiding the dreaded 0-3 start.
