There will be a slight change in the New York Giants offense in 2024.

Entering his third season as the head coach, Brian Daboll confirmed Tuesday to media members that he will be the one calling plays for the offense.

This is hardly surprising considering the development has been taking place since the spring, but this confirms what most believed to be the case.

While it's not much of a surprise, it does signal a change in process. During the first two seasons of Daboll's tenure, those responsibilities largely went to offensive coordinator Mike Kafka.

However, the struggles from the 2023 season likely pushed Daboll into taking over the play-calling duties for the offense, which was his role with the Buffalo Bills.

The switch was clear earlier in the offseason when Daboll parted ways with several assistants on the coaching staff outside of Kafka.

Still holding the role of offensive coordinator, Kafka will now work more behind the scenes in game-planning and preparation.

The Giants face a crucial season with Daboll at the helm. The decision to extend Daniel Jones after the 2022 season will likely come to a head depending on the results of this upcoming campaign.

Daboll will now have a direct hand in whatever development happens with the offense with every facet of the unit now under his control.
