Malik Nabers injury: Giants provide update on star WR's ankle image

New York Giants rookie wide receiver Malik Nabers exited practice early due to an apparent injury during Sunday's session.

While no official update has been given, Jordan Raanan of ESPN reported the Giants believe it's a minor ankle sprain for the star wideout.

It's expected that the Giants will have Nabers undergo more tests to determine the severity of the injury.

Though it seems the Giants avoided a major injury, they are not out of the woods yet until the imaging comes back.

Regardless of how much time Nabers misses, the Giants need their star rookie on the field. He's expected to be heavily targeted as the catalyst of the entire unit.

The No. 6 overall pick has been a dominant force throughout training camp, including his unstoppable performance against the Detroit Lions during joint practices last week.

Nabers played 12 snaps during the preseason opener but didn't receive a target.

Head coach Brian Daboll is expected to meet with the media before Monday morning's practice so there may be more of an update then.
