New York Giants wide receiver Malik Nabers and Washington Commanders quarterback Jayden Daniels are going from teammates to rivals, and there's a lot on the line.

Playing for pride in the NFC East is plenty enough to pit the former LSU teammates against each other on the gridiron, but their competitive relationship is taking another step when it comes to achievements during their respective rookie seasons.

Nabers, who was selected No. 6 overall, said he and Daniels, the No. 2 selection, have a massive bet when it comes to the Rookie of the Year.

“Having that guy in my corner has been the best. Going against him will be fun,” Nabers said on The Pivot Podcast"We’ve got a bet going for Rookie of The Year. Whoever loses has to pay $10,000 cash.”

Both Nabers and Daniels will have starting roles right away. The Giants have lacked a true alpha WR1 since the days of Odell Beckham Jr., and the Commanders are hoping to usher in a new era under Daniels and head coach Dan Quinn.

Nabers said the bet was made before they were drafted to their respective teams in the NFL. He and Daniels weren't the only LSU Tigers to get selected in the first round. Fellow wide receiver Brian Thomas Jr. was taken with the No. 23 pick by the Jacksonville Jaguars.

It should be an exciting time for the NFC East counterparts battling it out twice per year, and there's even more riding on the line during their rookie campaigns.
