The New York Giants (2-3) find themselves back in prime time to host the Cincinnati Bengals (1-4) on Sunday Night Football.
The Week 6 matchup will be an intriguing one considering the directions these two teams are heading. The Giants are coming off a road upset win over the Seattle Seahawks while the Bengals are reeling despite their offensive success.
The Giants will be without star wide receiver Malik Nabers (concussion) as he continues to work his way through the league's concussion protocol. Stepping in as the de-facto WR1 on the outside will be Darius Slayton.
Meanwhile in the backfield, starting running back Devin Singletary is questionable on the final injury report with a groin injury. He was inactive for the Week 5 win over the Seahawks.
With an intriguing matchup against a struggling Bengals defense coming up, we're diving into the start/sit advice in fantasy football for Slayton and Tracy.
Fantasy Football Start 'Em, Sit 'Em: Darius Slayton
Filling in for Nabers last week as the rookie missed with a concussion, Slayton was a fantastic spot start both in real and fantasy football. Though fantasy managers likely left him on the bench or the waiver wire.
Still, that didn't keep him from exploding for eight receptions, 122 yards and a touchdown on a 35% target share.
With Nabers ruled out again, Slayton finds himself in another potential spot start in prime time. His connection with Daniel Jones has always been strong, and he gets a juicy matchup against a struggling Bengals defense.
According to JJ Zachariason's adjusted fantasy points allowed metric, the Bengals rank as the eighth-most advantageous matchup for wide receivers.
On top of that, the Bengals have allowed six wide receivers to finish a week inside the top-24 this season, tied for the third-most, according to Ryan McDowell.
Between bye weeks and injuries, Slayton is a solid WR3/flex option with high upside this week.
Verdict: Start 'Em
Fantasy Football Start 'Em, Sit 'Em: Tyrone Tracy Jr.
This one is a bit tricky considering the fact that Singletary is listed as questionable on the final injury report. He was a limited participant in practice all week so he's likely to be a true game-time decision.
Tracy, the Giants' fifth-round pick in 2024, exploded in a major way while making a spot start for Singletary in the Week 5 upset over the Seattle Seahawks. The rookie took 18 carries for 129 rushing yards in the win.
His 82% running back rush share was the second-highest mark for a Giants running back this season — Singletary had a 94% share in Week 2.
Even if Singletary is active for the Sunday night matchup, Tracy is still in a strong position to produce. The Bengals have allowed the eighth-most rushing yards (566) to running backs this season as well as the fifth-lowest run stuff rate (13.3%), according to Next Gen Stats.
The Bengals also have allowed the third-most rushing yards over expected (+1.15) this season so Tracy is in a strong position to produce fringe RB2 numbers in fantasy. He's a solid spot start for those in need.
Verdict: Start 'Em
