New Orleans Saints star Taysom Hill went to a local hospital on Sunday due to a chest injury he suffered in the Week 2 win over the Dallas Cowboys.
Hill left the eventual 44-19 win over the Cowboys in the second half. According to ESPN’s Katherine Terrell, Saints head coach Dennis Allen told reporters that the hospital trip was precautionary, though wouldn’t expand.
Now listed on the depth chart as a tight end, Hill had three carries for 18 yards and one catch before leaving the contest. One of his rushes on a toss actually featured a few broken tackles, and he stood out as a notable blocker.
It should go without saying at this point, but Hill needing to miss time due to injury would be a setback for the Saints offense. New coordinator Klint Kubiak has clearly been an obvious success so far and Hill’s role in that shouldn’t go understated.
That said, the Saints can rotate in guys like Jamaal Williams with Alvin Kamara in the backfield and leave most of the work at tight end to names like Foster Moreau and Juwan Johnson, when healthy.
