In case you missed it, 2-0 New Orleans Saints quarterback Derek Carr is sounding like Drew Brees. And he is playing like him through the first two games of the 2024 season.  Running back Alvin Kamara has gone from possibly selling his house in New Orleans to showing off his extreme talent.

Carr is talking about making the fans happy and giving them a reason to enjoy Sundays.  He knows the fans can be a home-field advantage this team could need in Week 3 against the Philadelphia Eagles.

The first few weeks of a new NFL season are always confusing.  Is a team that jumps out to an early lead going to blaze that trail for the entire season, or was it just a great start?  Is a team that suffered a disappointing loss in one of those games going to rebound and be better the rest of the season?  The Saints and Eagles have already experienced extreme highs and lows.  Where do they go from here?

Carr is an already way-too-early MVP candidate prediction and a deep dive into his numbers on election years should give Saints fans a reason to hope this team is in the thick of things for the long haul.

The 1-1 Eagles are a favorite to win this road game (anywhere between 1.5 and 2 points depending on the day and betting line).

Carr will send the city of New Orleans into a fury if the Saints beat another NFC East opponent in back-to-back weeks.
