The New England Patriots hit the practice fields behind Gillette Stadium again on Thursday for their second training camp session of 2024.

On an overcast day, the Patriots did some stretching, individual drills, 7-on-7s and 11-on-11s while some players worked on their own.

Here's what happened during Day 2 in Foxboro:

Participation/Attendance

Both kicker Joey Slye and defensive lineman Davon Godchaux were late to get on the field. The latter expressed displeasure about his contract situation and eventually joined his teammates on the field, but he didn't participate.

Center Jake Andrews, wide receiver Kendric Bourne, guard Cole Strange and linebacker Sione Takitaki remain on PUP and were not seen.

Running back Antonio Gibson returned to practice after missing the first day, meaning he's likely off of NFI. Gibson did leave the main field early on so he could be getting some conditioning work in.

Rookie running back Terrell Jennings was also spotted, so he's likely been removed from PUP.

Defensive lineman Christian Barmore was limited due to an illness.

Wide receiver DeMario Douglas didn't participate in team drills for the second day in a row.

News/Notes

Former Patriots wideout Danny Amendola and running back coach Ivan Fears were at practice taking in the event.

Core special teamer Brenden Schooler got some reps with the top defense.

Vederian Lowe got the first 11-on-11 snaps at right tackle. Michael Onwenu worked at right guard and Caedan Wallace was the backup right tackle. Wallace eventually took over as the starting right tackle.

Marcus Jones had an impressive rep in coverage against Ja'Lynn Polk that led to a pass defensed.

Jabrill Peppers had a nice pass breakup while covering Hunter Henry.

Rookie quarterback Joe Milton III repped before Bailey Zappe in 7-on-7 drills and 11-on-11 drills.

Wide receiver Tyquan Thornton was active early on, making multiple catches in 7-on-7 with both of the top quarterbacks.

Rookie quarterback Drake Maye was efficient but was checking down most of the time.

The defense was ahead again, recording many would-be sacks against the offensive line.
