The New England Patriots have trimmed their roster down to 53 players by Tuesday's deadline, but there will certainly be more moves coming in the next few days.

While New England could still use more talented players at a number of positions, their biggest need right now is offensive line help with Cole Strange on reserve/PUP, Vederian Lowe battling an oblique injury and the group not being great to start with.

One player who was cut on Tuesday who would certainly make a lot of sense for the Patriots to consider signing is offensive tackle Geron Christian.

Christian, 27, was a 2018 third-round pick of Washington following a collegiate career at Louisville. He's also had stops with the Houston Texans, Kansas City Chiefs, Miami Dolphins, Houston Texans, Cleveland Browns and Tennessee Titans.

In his six NFL seasons, Christian has appeared in 58 games and started 25 mostly at left tackle (1,682 snaps at left and 125 snaps at right tackle).

He hasn't been overly successful in his career, but Christian did cross paths with Patriots offensive coordinator Alex Van Pelt in 2023 with Cleveland when Van Pelt held the same position with the Browns. Christian started nine games last year on the left side, so there's familiarity with the system.

New England desperately needs the help, and Christian would at least be someone who has starting experience and knows what he's doing even if he's not a top tackle in the league.
