As the New England Patriots continue to work through their training camp and preseason, they're still making roster moves with the hopes of fielding the most competitive team that they can by the time the season rolls around.

After signing running back DeShaun Fenwick again on Monday, the Patriots announced that they've released defensive end John Morgan.

Morgan, 24, signed with the Patriots this offseason as an undrafted free agent after playing collegiately at Pittsburgh and Arkansas. He played 29 total snaps (19 defensive and 10 special teams) in New England's first preseason game against the Carolina Panthers and according to ESPN's Mike Reiss, may have sustained an injury.

The former Razorback was expected to compete for a depth roster/practice squad spot this year.
